5 Tips and Hacks for Beginner Hikers https://ceretholidayvilla.com/2018/07/02/5-tips-and-hacks-for-beginner-skiers/ https://ceretholidayvilla.com/2018/07/02/5-tips-and-hacks-for-beginner-skiers/#respond Mon, 02 Jul 2018 14:48:09 +0000 https://themes.getmotopress.com/mountainview/?p=189 One of the first things to figure out when you, or your family, get the itch to try skiing is where to go. If you plan to ski in Switzerland, you are in luck because there are plenty of ski resorts to choose from! Every ski resort usually offers beginner terrain and lesson programs to help get you started. More than 10% of terrain at Verbier is rated green for beginners, but there are also many more great options out there. And remember, bigger does not always mean better; smaller resorts like our Gems Resorts often feature no crowds, cheaper pricing and a family-friendly feel.

Here are a few things to consider when choosing a mountain for beginners:

  1. If skiing for the first time, check out nearby resorts. There is no need to travel to the farthest reaches of the state just to try something new. Resorts like Verbier Winter Park and some other offer great beginner terrain and are just a short drive from the Alps.
  2. Ask your friends. Have any friends or family that ski? Ask for advice on where to go. If they are really a good friend, they might even offer to take you with them! Skiing for the first time alone or with other beginners can be intimidating, so don’t be afraid to ask for help!
  3. Price. Plan ahead to stay within budget; no one wants to be greeted with sticker-shock at the ticket window. Lift ticket and rental prices from resort to resort and can fluctuate depending on the time of year.

Work Hard, Party Hard in a Luxury Chalet in the Mountains https://ceretholidayvilla.com/2018/07/02/work-hard-party-hard-in-a-luxury-ski-chalet-in-the-alps/ https://ceretholidayvilla.com/2018/07/02/work-hard-party-hard-in-a-luxury-ski-chalet-in-the-alps/#respond Mon, 02 Jul 2018 14:46:33 +0000 https://themes.getmotopress.com/mountainview/?p=187 Ski resorts are evolving. Last summer we had a meeting with one of the main officers for French tourism in the Alps and he explained that they had carried out a lot of research and found that people are looking for a lot more than just endless kilometres of piste in a ski resort. One of the most popular methods of choosing a ski resort is using advice from friends, family or experts. We have worked out that as a team of people with a huge skiing experience and have skied most of the well known resorts throughout the Alps. And then we’ve decided to open our own chalet, which combines the best features of the world-famous resorts.

Although we have worked in the industry for a number of years and have been fortunate enough to visit a lot of resorts, we still like to take advice from people regarding what they enjoyed in particular resorts. We are always looking to try new resorts and ski areas and we take a lot of advice from our peers and customers alike. People want activities to enjoy after their day on the piste have come to an end.

How to Get the Most Out of Your Cabin Host https://ceretholidayvilla.com/2018/07/02/how-to-get-the-most-out-of-your-ski-chalet-host/ https://ceretholidayvilla.com/2018/07/02/how-to-get-the-most-out-of-your-ski-chalet-host/#respond Mon, 02 Jul 2018 14:45:27 +0000 https://themes.getmotopress.com/mountainview/?p=185 Traditionally, staying in a ski chalet was rather regimented and in most cases it still is. Wake up bright and early to a huge breakfast, return around four or five to mountains of cakes and hot chocolate before a four or five-course meal in the evening. But not everyone burns can burn calories on the snow each day so a tub of hot cheese, ham and buttery potatoes isn’t always necessary, but you need to get what you are given.

And you might fancy trying out that new restaurant in town but the ski chalet staff have been preparing’ since noon. Fortunately things are changing and it’s now possible to find (though still hard) a more freestyle attitude to dinners and dinner times. Above all, be nice to the staff. Take out things they can’t get in the Alps as little presents/tips – the staff will then go out of their way to be extra nice. Why tip at the end? And because of the way the budgets work, it’s good to get the hosts on side.

5 Budget Travel Tips Every Digital Nomad Should Know https://ceretholidayvilla.com/2018/07/02/5-budget-travel-tips-every-digital-nomad-should-know/ https://ceretholidayvilla.com/2018/07/02/5-budget-travel-tips-every-digital-nomad-should-know/#respond Mon, 02 Jul 2018 14:36:02 +0000 https://themes.getmotopress.com/mountainview/?p=177 First of all, travel off-season. Check with the local tourism office to find out when their off-season starts when flying, either plan well in advance (ideally, 10 months to a year ahead) or at the last minute (two weeks or less before you leave) – these will give you the cheapest pricing. Try to be flexible- you can save on fares by travelling mid-week, or choosing sunny Varadero, Cuba, over sunny Cancun, Mexico. Save your health – check with your credit card company for existing travel or car insurance.

Find and book a package deal or an all-inclusive trip. (not applied for local restaurants to hotel fare or planned outings, all-inclusives may not be a good idea. Brown bag healthy snacks and meals to avoid pricey airport or train food. Book a hotel room with a kitchenette, to save on meals. A very important thing, consult with your travel agent to preplan trips; surf the Internet for immediate deals. Ask your travel agent where to change your money to get the best exchange rate. Visit appropriate websites for hot Deals or special Deals to get the best prices on North American rail travel.

Apartment Rental vs Hotel Stay in Europe https://ceretholidayvilla.com/2018/07/02/apartment-rental-vs-hotel-stay-in-europe/ https://ceretholidayvilla.com/2018/07/02/apartment-rental-vs-hotel-stay-in-europe/#respond Mon, 02 Jul 2018 14:34:21 +0000 https://themes.getmotopress.com/mountainview/?p=174 Apartment rentals are becoming popular as an alternative form of accommodations when you travel around the world these days. We’ve been lucky enough to stay in all sorts of accommodation over the years from cheap guest houses to five star resorts, and recently had the unique opportunity of staying in both an apartment and a hotel while visiting Venice.

We thought it would be interesting to compare our experience between our apartment rental and our hotel stay in Venice and give our readers some trip advice so they know which form of accommodation we think is better. At least in Venice anyway.

Why You Should Spend Your Next Vacation in the Mountains https://ceretholidayvilla.com/2018/07/02/why-you-should-spend-your-next-vacation-in-the-mountains/ https://ceretholidayvilla.com/2018/07/02/why-you-should-spend-your-next-vacation-in-the-mountains/#respond Mon, 02 Jul 2018 14:32:29 +0000 https://themes.getmotopress.com/mountainview/?p=170 Getting away from clocks, social media, and the clutter of everyday life can be a great way to “reset” your life. There’s something about that sweet, clean, fresh air that city life doesn’t offer. Something about waking up to a few goats outside your door and a wasp convincing you to exit your bed that gives you a great mix of pleasant feelings.

If you absolutely love getting out into nature, a vacation in the mountains is for you. Whether it’s the beach or the forest, there’s just something about it that renews a passion for life, revitalizes, and restores you inner moves. That being said, there’s something incredibly soul sucking about not doing it nearly enough and being cooped up in a concrete jungle. Between traffic, light pollution, too many people, and work, it’s become abundantly clear that sometimes, you should do it. Leave your comfortable place.

Stay Happy and Inspired Inside the Rural Host Home https://ceretholidayvilla.com/2018/07/02/stay-happy-and-inspired-inside-the-rural-host-home/ https://ceretholidayvilla.com/2018/07/02/stay-happy-and-inspired-inside-the-rural-host-home/#respond Mon, 02 Jul 2018 14:31:18 +0000 https://themes.getmotopress.com/mountainview/?p=165 While Airbnb started in San Francisco and is often associated with a cheap lodging alternatives in major cities, those in rural areas seem to benefit almost equally. The median annual earning for rural hosts was $6,776 in comparison to the $6,674 median for urban hosts. As the balance of the global population has shifted to cities, so have government resources and business capital, causing a widening gap in economic opportunity between urban and rural areas.

Many rural communities around the world have had little investment by the hotel establishment. In the countryside of France, you can watch home sharing transform the traditional tourist season in real time. Our campaigns to help promote the small villages make us really proud. Staying in rural area, you can holistically help benefit the rural communities our hosts call home and in which our guests increasingly feel they belong.
